A major player in the worldwide hospitality sector, Louvre Hotels Group is all set to increase its footprints in the Indian hospitality sector.
Boasting about 1,175 hotels in 51 countries, Louvre Hotels has set its aim at the Indian market with a line-up of expansion in Somnath, Dwarka (Gujarat), Rajkot and Udaipur in addition to other properties by 2018.
"Yes, we are expanding and we aim to open 10-12 hotels in next two years. We are further working to introduce three more brands in India- Premiere Classe, a limited service budget hotel that focuses on comfort, connectivity and convenience. Campanile and Kyriad are other mid-market brand that we plan to bring to the region soon," said MD, Louvre Group of Hotels, South Asia, Vimal Singh in an email interview to ANI.
On elaborating about the company's expansion plans outside of India, Vimal Singh said that to increase the foot prints in India inorganically, the brand has acquired Sarovar as a part of our expansion plan.
"This will give us great leverage in terms of distribution and spread across the country and we became one of the largest hospitality group in the country. Currently Louvre operates 100+ hotels in India under Sarovar and Golden Tulip brands spread across segments," he added.
Louvre Hotels Group, which is a key player in the world hospitality sector has acquired significant majority in the high-end chain Hotels & Preference, with a portfolio boasting 2500 hotels in 54 countries.
Currently, the brand is focusing on expansion strategy through asset light model and more management and franchising agreements, where they don't own any property but we increase our portfolio by offering management services to operational hotels or projects under development.

"We are also increasing our business by leasing out the properties where we don't own the brick and mortar but we still have absolute control over the hotel operations, profits and its maintenance," Singh said while elaborating on the amount of investment that the company will make under its expansion project.
On expansion focus in Tier II & Tier III cities, Singh said that its Golden Tulip Hotels and Resorts are doing well across Tier I, II and III cities, and the potential hospitality business is across the macro and micro markets.
"India as a country has great potential to drive the hospitality business across all segments whether it's budget, mid market or luxury. We are looking at increasing our brand portfolios in metro as well as smart Tier II and Tier III cities that lacks international chain of hotels offering unprecedented services to its customers," he added.
Recently, Golden Tulip Suites Gurgaon, opened its upscale business hotel, which is designed with 74 executive suites and rooms out of 106 rooms.
