Commenting on the alleged scuffle between Bharaitya Janata Party (BJP) and the Trinamool Congress (TMC), members of parliament, Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday appealed to all political parties to maintain peace and decorum in Parliament.
"I want to appeal to all political parties to maintain peace and decorum to see that there is meaningful and constructive discussions on various issues," he said.
Stating that some people are not able to digest the mandate given by the people to the BJP, Naidu said, "It is understandable if the opposition protests if there is any mistake committed by our government or is not working properly after a year, but serious thought should be given to activities like obstructing the budget session and abusing the Prime Minister."
He also asserted that traditions and rules of the Parliament should be duly followed by the members.
"If you have objection to anything, then you will get the opportunity to raise it in the House. The speaker is ready to give this opportunity to the members. But if someone disrupts the house, does not allow others to speak, and jumps into the well then this is not at all acceptable. I urge all parties to ponder over this issue," Naidu added.
He said that if parliament goes on well and important discussion takes place then everybody should coordinate in it. He further added that government is always ready to have discussion on all the important issues.
