Magnamind Ventures, promoted by a group of UAE-based professionals, opened Kerala's first large-scale industrial laundry at KINFRA's Small Industries Park in Nellad, near Muvattupuzha, Kochi.
The 15-tons-per-day integrated laundry is also the largest of its kind in south India.
In a media briefing held at the site recently, the promoters said the 20,000-sq-ft laundry complex equipped with the most modern machineries imported from across the world, will mainly cater to the long-standing demands of the state's bourgeoning hospitality industry in and around Kochi, Munnar and Kumarakom.
According to a recent study, these three tourist hotspots alone account for 40 tons of dirty linen every day.
Magnamind Ventures will also pioneer into linen rentals for the first time in the country, a practice prevalent in the West.
The company also has a retail division which will have collection points initially in Kochi and Thrissur.

This will be spread to other parts of the region in the very near future. These outlets are intended to serve the household customers to provide services like genuine dry cleaning at competitive prices.
Magnamind has three divisions namely Linen Lounge, Centralim and Allure.
Linen Lounge is for the mainstream laundry services targeted to launder bed, bath, F and B, uniform and valets of hotels; uniforms for corporate houses; banquet linen for conventions; bed and bath linens of railways and blankets and seat covers of airline companies.
Centralim will pioneer into linen rentals, mainly to hotels. "Customers can take advantage of our highest quality linen specially made by the best mills in the country. Customers are spared of procuring, storing, managing and laundering their own linen," explained Sreejith Narendran, Managing Director, Magnamind Ventures.
Allure, the company's third division, will look after the retail operations of the company offering dry cleaning services in cities and towns. "Once our operations are in full stream, we would expand the number of collection centers across the state up to 50," added Sreejith.
Magnamind is the coming together of a team of professionals including laundry consultants, operators and service engineers with several decades of rich international exposure and with the strong financial backing of a few prominent businessmen based out of the Middle East and India.
Magnamind intends to replicate the best of the world in laundering and allied services in Kerala, where, due to its prominence in the world tourism map, it has become all the more crucial to have such services available locally, on time.

The unit in Nellad has a new range of equipment that utilizes the most modern energy efficient technology, which can also save as much as 40 per cent of water compared to traditionally available commercial washers.
The unit houses the best and latest machines of the highest international standards that includes washing machines from Belgium, ironer line from Denmark, dry-cleaning and garment finishing machines from Italy, garment pressing and dryers from USA, identification systems from Netherlands and packing systems from Germany.
Within 3 years of operations, Maganamind Ventures projects to triple its current projected annual sales turnover.
