Newly crowned chess' world champion Magnus Carlsen has revealed the activities chess players engage in during their two-and-a-half training session before each game.
Indian grandmaster and defending champion Viswanathan Anand lost the title to the 22-year-old Norwegian, after the 10th game of the World Chess Championship match ended in a draw on Friday.
According to Mashable, Carlsen said that during their training session, the players assemble at a place, preferable one where there are possibilities of playing sports or indulging in physical activities like swimming.
Carlsen further said that along with the outdoor activities, the players work on chess together for many hours a day, in a bid to find inspiration, sharpen their minds and discover new ideas, which they can apply while playing in a competition.
