Communist Party of India (CPI) leader Atul Anjan said here on Sunday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will rob the people of Maharashtra if they came to power in the state.

"The alliance between the BJP and Shiv Sena is struggling. They went down to the level of badmouthing the BJP in their mouthpiece Saamna. So, even if they come to an understanding now, people have seen how they fought, and that can happen again," said Anjan.

"It reflects the greed of the BJP to acquire power. They will rob people of Maharashtra," he added.

Yesterday, BJP leader Vinod Tawde had claimed that its ally Shiv Sena has offered his party 126 seats in the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly polls.

The Shiv Sena and the BJP have been bickering over the sharing of seats for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections, with Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray indicating that he was interested in the Chief Minister's post.
