In a major setback to the Samajwadi Party ahead of the assembly polls scheduled next year, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday emerged victorious in the Muzaffarnagar by-polls.
The Congress bagged the Deoband assembly seat in the by-polls.
BJP's Kapil Deo Agrawal won the Muzaffarnagar seat by 6,000 votes while Congress' Mavia Ali won Deoband seat by 3,400 votes.
In Maharashtra, Shiv Sena candidate Amit Ghoda won Palghar Assembly seat by 18948 votes.
In Punjab, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD)'s Ravinder Singh Brahmpura won Khadoor Sahib seat by a margin of 65,664 votes.
In Telangana, TRS candidate won the Medak assembly seat by a margin of 53,600 votes.
In Bihar, Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) candidate Sudhanshu Shekhar won from Haraki seat by around 18,000 votes.
