Sixteen-year-old Malaika Goel brought laurels for India by winning a silver medal in women's 10-metre air pistol event during the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
Malaika's coach Gurjeet Singh told ANI, "Malaika has been training with me since 2008 and today I feel immensely proud of her. This would not have been possible without her parent's support and hard work."
"Our main goal is Olympics and next month she will be going to Spain as well for the Asian Games," he added.
Malaika's proud grandfather also told ANI, "We are too proud of her. In such a tender age she has achieved so much, which is not a small thing. We are thankful to god for his blessings and wish she gets a gold medal in the Olympics as well."
Ranked fifteenth in the world, Malaika secured a silver medal in the women's 10-m air pistol event, her first international medal in the senior category.
