The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday ridiculed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's rile against the demonetisation drive and said that it is obvious for her to get anxious as she has lost both, her 'illegal money' and her votes.
BJP leader G.V.L Narsimha Rao said that people of the nation are supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiative to fight black money and this is intimidating Banerjee.
'Mamata Banerjee has lost her notes and votes both. She knows that people of the nation are defending Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This sudden decision has cause huge loss to many political parties. So them getting anxious and restless is obvious," Rao told ANI here.
Echoing similar sentiments another BJP leader Shaina NC said that Banerjee should let go her political interests and think for the welfare of the people of the nation as the demonetisation drive is an endeavour to bring the country back on the track of honesty.
"Mamata Banerjee must understand demonetisation is not for a limited few, it is a step to take this country on the track to honesty. To do away with corruption, terror or any force which is trying to destabilise India," said NC.
"If she doesn't believe in this national cause the I think that there is a question because those who are thinking of selfish interest and political gain hardly should think about themselves, they should think about the country first," she added.
Firmly castigating the Centre on demonetisation, Banerjee yesterday announced that she would be on the roads of the national capital today to protest against the note ban.

"I am going to Delhi tomorrow. I will be on the road again. We are ready to join any political programme," Banerjee said.
"Centre has 'rolled back' about 15 decisions since announcement on 8 Nov. This means they are confused," she added.
