Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national secretary and West Bengal in-charge, Siddharth Nath Singh, on Sunday rubbished the Trinamool Congress' claims of being a 'winning party', saying the ruling party in the state had done nothing for development of the people.
Singh alleged that the TMC created an atmosphere of terror during the polling for Kolkata Municipal Corporation election, which is not a trait of a winning party.
"Even in Siliguri, they can see that things are not in their favour and the reason for that is that TMC and Mamata Banerjee have not done anything for development of the people. The people only demand development," Singh said.
"Mamata Banerjee and TMC kept saying that they will win. But a winning party does not spread such terror. They created an atmosphere of terror yesterday, by using bombs and bullets. They did not allow the voters to cast their votes, all this came on camera. The BJP is not saying all this," he added.
Earlier on Saturday, a TMC worker reportedly threatened and attacked the mediapersons in Garden Reach area during the voting for the KMC election.
