Trinamool Congress (TMC) president Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday said that the time is coming for the regional parties to take over the national politics given they are still together in an alliance.
Giving her reactions on the recent assembly polls results in five states, Mamata said, "The public has sent their message to the Congress. The Congress will not be able to do it. Now the time is coming for the regional parties to take over, if they are still together. The country will see a new phase. People want a stable government,"
Alleging that the country is in disastrous state, she said: "When we withdrew the support from the UPA Government on the FDI in retail issue, we thought why are we leaving them. But today the price of each and every commodity is rising, whether it is diesel, petrol or kitchen gas. This is a disastrous situation, which is prevailing throughout the country."
"Sometimes there are decisions, which is taken for the overall good of the country. But whatever decision this government had taken after we left the alliance, are all anti-people. So people are agitated and that's why they voted against the Congress," Mamata said.
"Our party goes alone and we are not bothered about the BJP and the Congress. As far as the results in the assembly elections is concerned, we are with the verdict of the people. There is no individual credit, but it solely goes to the people," she said.
