A man who was accused of raping his estranged wife by pretending to be someone else has been cleared of all charges.
The man, who messaged his wife pretending to be a 20-year-old man, had sex with her on two different occasions by covering his face with a balaclava and blindfolding wife, was acquitted by New Plymouth District Court, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
The man's lawyer said that his client had always maintained that his estranged wife knew it was him or at the very least thought it might have been him.
