A missing man, who survived 66 days on sailboat by catching fish and drinking rain water, has been rescued.
37-year-old Louis Jordan, whose father had reported him missing in January, was found by the crew of the Houston Express, a German-flagged container, who spotted him on his disabled sailboat Angel off the coast of Cape Hatteras and took him aboard, CBS News reported.
Jordan, who was later flown by helicopter to a hospital in Norfolk, Va., was last seen at a Conway, S.C., marina on Jan. 23, after which an alert was issued to the sailing community, requesting to keep a lookout for him.
Coast Guard spokesman Ryan Doss said that since they didn't know his destination, it was hard to pin his location in the Atlantic Ocean "without the critical piece of information."
Jordan appeared to have an injured shoulder but was fine otherwise, and the reason behind what caused his boat to become disabled is still unclear.
