Defending Premier League champions Manchester United was left eight points behind leaders Arsenal following a 1-1 draw with Southampton at Old Trafford on Thursday.
Although United had looked on course for what would have been a ninth successive win over Southampton with a goal from Robin van Persie in the 26th minute, however, Southampton skipper Adam Lallana gave the visitors a share of the spoils with his last-minute goal.
According to the BBC, even though the draw has threatened to unravel United's fragile recovery following its worst start to a Premier League season, however, the side bristled with attacking menace for all 90 minutes boosted by another impressive performance by teenager Adnan Januzaj, along with Wayne Rooney and Van Persie.
The report mentioned that Van Persie's goal was his fifth in as many appearances against Southampton but his first for five Premier League matches.
