Manchester United owners are reportedly backing club's current manager David Moyes for now, despite United's poor show this season.

United's 3-0 loss to Manchester City this week may not be acceptable by the club's executives, but they feel that there is no need to back the Scot publicly, as it would be contrary to how the club conduct their affairs.

According to the Guardian, some of United fans had verbally abused former club boss Sir Alex Ferguson when he appointed Moyes as his successor last summer and the fact the Moyes is being criticised widely from supporters adds to the sense of disquiet at how the Scott's first season in charge has unfolded.

United lost 3-0 to Liverpool last week at Old Trafford followed by the recent 3-0 loss to city at the clubs home ground has reportedly left fans outraged towards Moyes.

The Premier League champions are currently 18 points behind leaders Chelsea and 12 points adrift of a Champions League position, and their recent City loss indicates that United, for the first time in the Premier League era, has suffered 10 defeats in a season, the report added.
