Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has said that the team is still confident about coming good despite adding another disappointing result to a dismal season start.

According to Metro.co.uk, a 1-1 draw with Southampton at Old Trafford leaves United anchored in mid-table, with the same number of points as newly promoted Hull.

Moyes has not had it all his own way since leaving Everton in the summer but it is unthinkable that his job will be under scrutiny so soon into his tenure at Old Trafford, the report said.

However, Red Devils midfielder Carrick recognises United need to start winning games soon if they are not to fall too far off the pace set by Premier League leaders Arsenal, the report added.

The England international said that the league table is not easy reading now but looking at it, it is not something United is used to, adding that it is frustrating because things are not going the way they want and as players, they need to stand up, take responsibility and get better.
