Manchester United defender Jonny Evans has warned new Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho that his 'mind-game' tricks will not work on the Old Trafford side.
According to the Daily Star, Evans' statement came on the heels of Mourinho's comment that he believed that United only won the league last season because other teams had played poorly.
Dismissing Mourinho's statement that United is an average side, Evans said that Mourinho is playing mind games probably to unsettle them, adding that he and his teammates have laughed that statement off as they do not read too much into such things.
Reckoning that Mourinho has a lot to prove in his second stint at Stamford Bridge, Evans also said that although he had that spell at Chelsea where he gave them a lot of confidence and made them successful, it remains to be seen if he can have the same impact again.
Evans missed United's opening day victory at Swansea through injury but reckons their tough set of early fixtures may not be so bad after all.
After Chelsea, United visit Liverpool and Manchester City in two of their next three league games, the report added.
