Spanish attacking midfielder Juan Mata believes that new boss Louis van Gall has restored Manchester United's winning mentality that was lost under David Moyes.
Mata is now a part of a squad enthused by the arrival of Van Gaal, with the Spain star having already been singled out for the number 10 role by the Dutchman.
Van Gaal was a fan of Mata before he took over at United and is understood to want the Spaniard to occupy the playmaker role just off the main strikers next season, The Mirror reported.
Mata, for his part, believes that United fans would finally see the best of him after a full pre-season and is convinced that the Dutchman is the man to take the 20-times champions back to the top.
Mata said that they feel the manager is a great manager who has brought a strong mentality, and added that United is made for a winning mentality and he feels that Van Gaal has it.
Mata said that Van Gaal has had success in different countries and they are happy with him and the way he works. He added that everything is new, but the United squad is adapting well to the Dutchman's style of football.
United's newly-appointed boss has introduced strict guidelines and has wasted no time in asserting his authority with his players, from double training sessions to military-style dining arrangements, the report added.
