Manchester United bosses will monitor their star player Wayne Rooney's sleep pattern in a specially designed sleep centre, as they fear that the demands of his young kids may not be letting him get enough sleep.

The football club has put him in a state-of-the art sleep facility at the Aon Training Complex, which has eight "quiet rooms" where players can sleep after training, includes a cinema and a lounge, the Daily Star reported.

Tony Strudwick, who is monitoring the 28-year-old footballer's sleep said that the players who have young children get a slightly lower quality of sleep and that can affect performance.

He added that they have an extensive monitoring and recording process in place.
