Mandela's 4 million dollar estate to be split among family and trusts

Former South African President Nelson Mandela has reportedly left behind 4.13 million dollar estate that will be split among his family of more than 30 children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

According to the executors of his will, Mandela has granted 1, 30,000 dollar plus royalties to the Mandela Trust.

Mandela has also set aside a part of his fortune for his personal staff, the governing ANC and several schools, giving away 300,000 dollars to each of his biological and step-children.

Meanwhile, the executors said that the former President's third wife Graca Machel, who is entitled to half of Mandela's property and assets, is most likely give up her claims to the estate, the BBC reported.

The bill that was written in 2004 and underwent changes in 2008 details the split-up of Mandela's overall property that includes an upmarket house in Johannesburg, a modest dwelling in his rural Eastern Cape home province and royalties from book sales, including his autobiography Long Walk to Freedom.
