The Government of India on Sunday organised the Digi-Dhan Mela at Imphal's City Convention Centre to promote cashless payment for merchants.
Various channels and platforms such as RuPay, Aadhar enabled Payment system (AePS), Unified Payment Interface (UPI), Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD), Immediate Payment Service (IMPS), e-wallet and Point of Scale (POS) machine have been launched for the same.
Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju and Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain graced the event.
The government earlier launched two schemes namely Lucky Grahak Yojana (for consumers) and Digi Dhan Vyapar Yojana (for merchants) with effect from December 25.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi would distribute prizes to the winners of the mega draw to be held nationally at a function in the national capital on the last day of the campaign on April 14.
The highest prize for the Lucky Grahak Yojana is Rs one crore and Rs 50 lakh for the Digi Dhan Vyapar Yojana.
