Denying that he was insulting the National Flag, Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia has termed hoisting the flag upside down an accident.

Speaking to ANI, Sisodia said, "I have unfurled over 20 flags at Independence Day celebrations all over my constituency. At one ceremony, the organizers had tied the flag incorrectly, so when I unfurled it, it was upside down."

Denying that he was insulting the National Flag, Sisodia said, "It was a mistake on the part of the organizers. As soon as I saw that the flag was upside down, I berated them, and they immediately rectified their mistake. I take great pride in the Tricolour."

Sisodia also stood by his not wearing a helmet while riding his motorcycle. "In my constituency, there are many lanes where it is impossible to drive a car. To visit those areas, you need to travel by motorcycle and while travelling in these areas, I was interacting with the people, something that is impossible to do while wearing a helmet, he told ANI.

Earlier today, Sisodia, while presiding over a local Independence Day ceremony, had unfurled the flag upside down.
