The brother of Gajendra Singh, the farmer who committed suicide during an Aam Aadmi Party rally in the national capital, on Thursday alleged that Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia knew his brother, accusing the Arvind Kejriwal-led party of being insensitive towards the issue.

"Gajendra had gone to meet Manish Sisodia after they won the elections. Even yesterday, when I spoke to him, he said that he is going to a rally. Manish Sisodia knew him. Manish Sisodia might have called him for the rally," Gajendra Singh's brother Vijendra Singh told ANI.

"My brother died because of negligence. Whether it is the Delhi Police or the AAP, they have been insensitive to the matter. The rally went on even after he died, it is so saddening. Kejriwal ji is also at fault, he should have asked others to bring him down from the tree," he added.

Gajendra had committed suicide on Wednesday by hanging himself from a tree during the rally at Jantar Mantar.

As per reports, a suicide note was found that revealed the farmer, who had three children, was banished from his house after his crop was damaged. He took the extreme step because he had no means of support his family.

The incident also sparked criticism for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, with opposition parties condemning that the rally went on despite the grave incident.
