Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, who were on patrolling duty, were killed by Maoists in an attack in Bihar on the day of voting in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
Maoists attacked in the wee hours of Thursday in Munger district, leaving two dead and seven injured.
A CRPF officer, Vishwanath, who was among the injured, recalled the horrific attack.
"We were going through the main road in our vehicle and suddenly there was an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) explosion. It didn't damage the jeep though; the blast was followed by firing after which they managed to escape. It was very dark and we couldn't see much," said Vishwanath.
The injured were admitted to a Primary Health Centre in Kharagpur town of the district. They are now being shifted to Bhagalpur city for further treatment.
