Maoists blew up a portion of a railway track in Jharkhand's Bokaro District, which resulted in the disruption of train services.
State police said the rebels destroyed about 1.5 meters of track due to which passenger trains were held up at different points.
Railway Divisional Manager B.K. Singh said train services will resume after the damaged track is repaired.
"Four inches of both tracks have been damaged. After restoration, normal traffic would continue," he said.
Police also confirmed the recovery of a 15 kilogram can bomb hidden below an over bridge on National Highway-2 at Chittarpur.
Rajrappa Police Station Officer Lileshwar Mahto said, "We received the information that a can bomb is kept on the Chittarpur over-bridge. We reached the site after receiving the information and found that a can bomb with a thin wire and a battery was kept. This was kept by the Maoists to blow the railway track. It has been ceased and no untoward incident took place."
He added that a bomb disposal squad was called from Hazaribagh to defuse the bomb.
