The agent and manager of Argentine soccer legend Diego Maradona has said that the former player and coach is willing to come to the country.
This has come after Maradona disparagingly compared the Argentina Football Association (AFA) to the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) and a PFF official responded with an invitation to the football icon to visit Pakistan.
According to The Dawn, in a communication between Naveed Haider Khan and Maradona's manager Gustavo Amador Moure, the latter has asked the PFF to send an official invitation for the football great.
Khan believes if the situation turns into a reality then there would be an immense interest generated for football in the country, which, he added, is in dire need of help and support.
Khan further said that Maradona is regarded as one of the greatest players to have played the game of football and also enjoys great popularity in Pakistan, adding that the PFF would be sending the official invitation to Maradona very soon and urged the government to play their part in making it happen.
