A guard of honour ceremony was held today in remembrance of the seven jawans who were killed in a Naxal attack in Gadchiroli on Sunday.
Police officers and relatives of the dead victims paid floral tribute.
On Sunday, at least seven policemen were killed and two others injured as Maoists triggered a landmine blast in 'red rebel' hotbed of Gadchiroli District in Maharashtra.
Maoists blew up the vehicle when the policemen were conducting combing for an operational task in the forest between Pavimuranda and Murmuri villages in Chamorshi Taluka of the district.
After the explosion, there was a heavy exchange of fire between police and the red rebels.
