'Masaan' flags-off sixth Jagran Film Festival in Delhi

Indian movie 'Masaan' that won two prestigious awards at the 68th Cannes Film Festival opened the 6th Jagran Film Festival held in Siri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi.

Neeraj Ghaywan, the director of the movie, was ecstatic about the Indian premier and said while addressing the audience at the event that he had mixed feelings whilst arriving at the event as he was about to showcase his movie to the Indian audience, to his own people for the very first time."

The star cast of the movie i.e. Richa Chadha, Sanjay Mishra, Vicky Kaushal, music composer Rahul Ram and co-writer Varun Grover marked their presence at the event along with actress-turned-filmmaker Pooja Bhatt and singer Udit Narayan.

'Masaan' that got 5-minute long standing ovation at the Cannes, grabbed FIPRESCI (International Federation Of Film Critics) award and a Prix de l'Avenir (a special jury prize for promising debut films), the latter shared with Iranian film 'Nahid'.

The five-day extravaganza will showcase more than 100 feature and short films this year and will travel to 17 cities before culminating in India's showbiz capital Mumbai.
