Graeme McDowell says that his dynamic with Rory McIlroy has changed forever since the latter won four major titles and the world number one ranking.

He said that the older brother, younger brother thing that the duo had was not the same any more, the BBC reports.

McDowell said that McIlroy was a four-time major winner and the world number one, adding that the dynamic between the two may have changed forever and that he needed that leadership role.

The pair has won two Ryder Cup matches together out of the six matches that they have played until now.

McDowell said at Gleneagles ahead of this week's biennial contest with the USA that he found the betterball format with McIlroy in Medinah very hard.

He said that McIlroy would hit it 350 yards down the middle off the tee while he would be standing over his tee shot thinking to himself 'there is not a lot of point in hitting this' while trying to throw everything into it.

He also admitted speaking to Europe's captain, Paul McGinley regarding the same.
