Northern Irish golf ace Rory McIlroy warned the United States (U.S.) that the Europeans are not done yet and have no intention of easing up on the Americans after a record-equalling third successive Ryder Cup win.

The world number one provided an inspiring on-course lead by destroying Rickie Fowler in the singles to win Europe's first point and set them on their way to a comfortable 16.5-11.5 victory. Europe has now won eight Ryder Cups in the last ten contests.

McIlroy promised that there would be no letting-up with the United States still well ahead in the all-time records with 25 wins to 13 since the contest began against Great Britain in 1927, The Daily Express reported.

McIlroy said that they have an image in their team room and it shows how much red, white and blue is still on the Ryder Cup honours' board, adding that America has still won a lot more than Europe and that's what they are going towards.

The Northern Irishman said that their goal is to catch the Americans up and overtake them as quickly as they can. He also said that it was great to be able to put that first point on the board and he is just really proud of how he played, adding that he didn't really give Fowler a chance.

McIlroy said that it is the icing on the cake of what has been a very special summer for him, adding that he couldn't have asked for it to end any better.
