The Governor of Punjab has dismissed the appeal of Pakistan musician Meesha Shafi, filed against singer Ali Zafar in connection with alleged sexual harassment. Shafi's appeal was rejected on July 11.

The musician had earlier filed a complaint to the governor against Zafar under the Protection Against Harassment of Women at Workplace Act 2010.

The Express Tribune quoted the actor's legal team as stating, "Meesha was not compelled in any way to work with Ali. The appeal was dismissed some time ago, around the same time Ali's debut Pakistani film Teefa in Trouble was releasing. Therefore, we didn't want the attention of the movie to be diverted."

Shafi's legal team will appeal again on a competent forum, reported The Express Tribune.

Earlier, Shafi, in a social media post, said Zafar harassed her on multiple occasions and that her "conscience does not allow her to be silent anymore". Ali, however, rebuffed Shafi's allegations.

Zafar, a Pakistani singer-songwriter, has worked in several Bollywood films including 'Tere Bin Laden,' 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan,' 'Chashme Baddoor,' and 'Dear Zindagi.
