A camera put up by wildlife rangers in an effort to capture images of crocodiles in Australia was stolen by an eagle, who recorded its 110km journey across the Kimberley and then took a 'selfie'.

Ranger Roneil Skeen said that they had put up the camera along the Margaret River, but it soon went missing, News.com.au reported.

After finding the camera containing the fascinating footage near the Mary River, they released the video, which shows the sea eagle grabbing the device and taking off.

After flying for a while, the bird then unintentionally poses for a selfie by poking its face into the camera lens while looking for food.
