The next golfing superstar could be a nine-year-old girl who hits 20 balls out to 110 metres and lands them virtually on top of one another despite a nasty crosswind at a golf course.

Zhuoyi Hu is being coached by Ian Godleman and Lynnette Godleman, while her father Ken has brought her trophies in a plastic bag. Ken says that Hu had a natural swing at six so he let her play.

Ken admitted that he is not a golfer so a good coach is very important for her daughter to develop, Stuff.co.nz reported.

Ian is one of Europe's best teaching professionals with his roll of honour including greats Seve Ballesteros and Ian Woosnam. He was in the race to coach Tiger Woods until this week when the former world number one's management group advised him they had gone with Chris Como.

Ian uses a 40,000 dollars coaching tool called Trackman to record every shot, sometimes shaking his head in amazement at the efficiency of his star pupil's swing.

Ian admitted that he has got a good handle of what sort of level they need to get to and claimed that he has not seen a nine year-old strike the ball like this.

As a seven-year-old Hu finished runner-up in the Wellington Junior Tiger. She admitted that her favourite golfing icon is Lydia Ko, adding that she believes the South Korea-born New Zealand teen golfer is so good at such a young age and she wishes to be just like her, or even better.
