A retired racer pigeon Peace is world's oldest pigeon at 24 years, it has been revealed.
Peace survived 16 years longer than an average pigeon and is still going strong, Metro.co.uk reported.
The pigeon's owner Valerie Whittingham adopted him, when she spotted him recovering in a nest box at a rescue centre.
A ringlet around Peace's ankle shows that he is 24 years and 188 days.
Whittingham credits the longevity of her pet pigeon to the top-quality food, she feeds her birds.
