A new research has revealed that sitting on a couch in front of a Television set for hours helps men to burn more than 600 calories.
The study showed that women who did the same thing burned less than half as many calories as men did when resting, as they weighed less and had less muscle mass, the Daily Star reported.
The doctors examined the energy levels of couples who munched 600-calorie fry-ups before doing three hours of cleaning, gym work or watching TV, and noticed that men burned 640 calories, whereas, women used up only 292 calories.
The study also found that light housework was as good as a tough gym workout for both men and women as moderate continuous activity uses more calories.
