MI5 boss Andrew Parker has warned that a group of core al Qaeda terrorists in Syria is plotting Mumbai style "mass casualty attacks against the West".
Parker said that the extremists in Syria are making "complex and ambitious plots" to target western transport networks and iconic landmarks.
Mumbai style shootings and aviation bomb plots are among the plans being developed by the group, reported News.com.au.
According to reports, the group in question is "Khorasan" cell that includes jihadists who are sent by al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri.
