Microsoft has officially launched its Office 2016 for Mac.
Office 2016 is already available across Windows, Android and iOS devices. The introduction of a new version for OS X brings a many new features.
According to the Techcrunch.com, the company said that the updated software is first being made available to Office 365 subscribers that are those who have either an Office 365 Home, Personal, Business, Business Premium, E3 or ProPlus subscription.
Microsoft said that depending on their needs the users can buy Office 365 subscription. Office 365 Personal will sell at USD 6.99 for home users and Office 365 Home will sell at USD 9.99 per month. Also, plans are available for students to give Office 2016 for Mac for free or for a significant discount.
The first time users can get an office 2016 subscription at office.com/Mac whereas existing customers can install from their account page.
The new features that are available are new versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote which is available in 139 countries and 16 languages. It includes the familiar ribbon interface and task panes, as well as features designed for Mac users like Full Screen view, multi-touch gestures and Retina support. Its integration with the cloud allows users to switch between devices like PCs, tablets, phones and the web in order to continue editing or collaborating on files.

In addition, Microsoft said that the updated suite will receive quarterly updates.
Microsoft points out that a standalone version will not become available until September. Also, the price of that is not yet revealed.
