Tech-giant Microsoft has reportedly revealed that it will bring back the Start Menu in a new look, as millions of users asked for it.
The new Start menu would reportedly look like a hybrid of the best of Windows 7 and Windows 8 and would be around the same size as the Windows 7 menu.
Microsoft announced at its build conference that the new Start Menu would also feature miniature Live Tiles along one side, The Verge reported.
While aiming to make a return to Windows' roots, Microsoft also reportedly demonstrated a new mode that would allow modern Windows 8 apps to run in the desktop environment inside their own windows, which will make a lot of keyboard and mouse users very happy.
However, the new desktop will not replace the current Windows environment entirely as the full-screen Start Menu and apps will still be around for those who want them, the report added.
The new features will be featured as a part of a 'future update' of Windows later this year, but a major Windows 8.1 update is to come later this month without any of the new features, the report further added.
