Pakistan's veteran batsman Younis Khan, who scored hundreds in both innings against Australia to cap a memorable Test, has thanked his side's batting coach Grant Flower and trainer Grant Luden for his splendid performance in his team's victory on Sunday.

However, Younis refused to give credit to the board or the selectors after playing a pivotal role in Pakistan's first Test victory. He had criticised the selectors and the Pakistan Cricket (PCB) after being dropped for the ODI series against Australia.

The former skipper had also offered to step down from the Test side, but the PCB avoided taking any disciplinary action against him despite confirming that Younis had violated code of conduct for players, The Dawn reported.

Younis avoided mentioning the names of team manager Moin Khan, also the chief selector, and head coach Waqar Younis or the PCB at the post-match presentation ceremony.

Host Ramiz Raja, a former Pakistan captain, urged him to give credit to the board for selecting him but Younis was in no mood to be generous.

Younis said that he gives a lot of credit to Luden and Flower who worked hard with him before this Test to get him ready for the match psychologically and mentally. He added that Flower spent a lot of time with him in the nets and mentally prepared him for a bruising time against a top class Australian attack.

Younis said that even though he was hit a couple of times on the body he was expecting that and managed to stay firm.
