Premiership club Swansea got the most famous win of their long history after they beat European Cup finalists Valencia 3-0 in Spain.

According to metro.co.uk, if the last decade hadn't already been dramatic enough for the Welsh outfit, the journey from League Two to the Premier League, winning the League Cup, this was the wonderful icing on the cake.

The home side were forced to play 80 minutes with 10 men after defender Adil Rami was sent off for hauling down Wilfried Bony, but the Swans deserved immense credit for taking advantage of the extra man in style, the report said.

An ecstatic Swansea boss Michael Laudrup said that it was very pleasing to win against such a big side and although he had been at the club only for 15 months, it had been a fantastic evening and a fantastic result.
