The Indian-Chinese pair of Sania Mirza and Jie Zheng have lost in the US Open semi-finals on Thursday to the Australian duo of Casey Dellacqua and Ashleigh Barty.
According to tennisworldusa.org, the Australians needed only 65 minutes to beat the Indo-Chinese pair 6-2 6-2 and they were also runners-up at the Australian Open and Wimbledon.
Mirza and Zheng came into the event with some good form, having won the title in New Haven the week prior to the US Open, the report said.
Barty and Dellacqua will aim to win their first grand slam title and they will meet the winner of Friday's semi-final clash between the Williams sisters and Czech duo Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka, the report added.
The Williams have never lost to the Czech duo in five meetings so far, the report further said.
