Michael Jackson's ex-wife Debbie Rowe could be the legal guardian of Paris if the teenager wants it, but she is reportedly not going to fight Katherine Jackson over her daughter's custody because she has too much respect for the late King of Pop and his mother.

According to a source close to the family, Rowe who split from the pop star in 1999 would be willing to have Paris live with her forever but would want the late singer's mum to remain involved as guardian, the New York Daily News reported.

The source told the publication that it would take Katherine dying or becoming very ill for Rowe to seek legal guardianship in court.

The insider said that Rowe and Katherine are friendly and want to respect the King of Pop's will.

The source insisted that if the judge makes a decision to strip Katherine of custody, Rowe would be ready to step in.

The insider revealed to the publication that Katherine said that she isn't going to give up the role because she feels that would be letting her son down, and Rowe has too much respect for her and Jacko's wishes to fight her in court.
