Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi on Wednesday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA Government of practising 'superlative opportunism', saying the latter has forgotten to address all the crucial issues raised during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

"This government has not allocated funds adequately. I think we have over-spent on defence. This government is high on promises and very low on implementation. They remember issues such as Article 370 and Uniform Civil Code only during elections and then they put them on the back burner. This is superlative opportunism," said Singhvi.

Earlier on Tuesday, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had hailed the impact that the NDA regime has had in the country during the last one year under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.

Prime Minister Modi had earlier in his message on the first anniversary of his government expressed happiness to witness the nation on "the fast path of development" and said that the world is optimistic about India and enthusiastic about exploring the opportunities that the country has to offer.
