Former external affairs minister K.Natwar Singh on Saturday said Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi has hit a diplomatic sixer even before taking oath by inviting Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to India to attend the event.
"Narendra Modi has hit a diplomatic sixer even before taking oath as the prime minister," said Singh.
Congress leader Shashi Tharoor said that the Congress would not interfere or comment on Sharif's visit to India.
"It is the designated PM's decision to invite whosoever he wants. All seven nations were sent an invite, most of the nations replied very quickly except Pakistan," said Tharoor.
"It seems as if they had a proper discussion regarding this in Islamabad. The Congress is not going to comment or interfere in this," he added.
Sharif has accepted India's invitation to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Modi.
