Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah on his visit to the state to inaugurate Katra-Udhampur train.
Expressing his happiness over the inauguration of the train, Abdullah said, "We were waiting for this for a long time, it will be a big boon for the locals as well."
This is Modi's first visit to Jammu and Kashmir after assuming office. He also met the railway officials as he flagged off a Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) which will serve as special train to the Hindu holy shrine of Vaishno Devi.
