Lashing out at the Ashok Gehlot-led Government for failing to do or achieve anything in Rajasthan, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Thursday said basic facilities were still not being provided to the people.

Addressing a rally here, Modi claimed that the Congress is yet to fulfill promises made during the last Assembly poll in 2008.

Unhesitatingly naming and blaming Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Modi said: "Madam, as the nation is finding where the central government is, similarly, we and the people of Rajasthan are also looking for the Congress Government in the state."

"Madam says we gave money for Rajasthan's development, but can you trust what Madam is saying," Modi repeatedly asked people who had assembled for his rally. The replies were obviously negative.

Modi further attacked Sonia, saying: "Madam, you may not want to answer me, but the people of Rajasthan will surely give you an answer."

The BJP leader alleged that money sanctioned for gifting computers to youth had not been spent.

The Gujarat chief minister asked the people to vote for the BJP, and promised that Rajasthan would scale new heights under Vasundhara Raje.

Modi had earlier said development in Rajasthan has come to a standstill under the Ashok Gehlot-led regime.

Addressing a rally here recently, Modi criticised the Gehlot Government for ignoring the tourism sector of the state, which he said is a huge revenue generator.

"Due to the poor policies of the Gehlot Government, the number of tourists visiting the state is decreasing day by day. It is an issue of serious concern," he added.

Reminding people about the steep rise in prices of basic commodities, Modi accused Congress leaders of acquiring a mastery over making big promises and not fulfilling them.

"People must reply to the Congress by not voting for them in the coming assembly election," he added.

The upcoming election in Rajasthan is being seen as a litmus test for both the BJP and the Congress ahead of the 2014 general elections.

Rajasthan, which is currently governed by Congress Government, votes for a new assembly on December 1. The counting of votes will take place on December 8.
