England newcomer Moeen Ali has said that he believes he can make an instant mark on international cricket despite England's disastrous form going into their World Twenty20 opener against New Zealand on Saturday.

The Worcestershire batsman, who also bowls a tidy off-spin, has been one of county cricket's most prolific scorers in recent seasons and also was a beneficiary of England's post-Ashes review, earning a call-up for the T20 tournament in Bangladesh.

According to The Independent, although England might be struggling desperately for form heading into the tough Group One opener against New Zealand here, Ali is in upbeat mood, saying that he is finding it really good being with England and making the most of his time with the coaches and players.

Ali further said that he has gotten his wish to play at the top-level for a long time, adding that he was happy with his innings against India in the warm-up, where he top-scored with 46, adding that he is not too sad about the defeat as he batted well.

Ali also believes that the team can take encouragement from their loss against India, which, he added, is a top Twenty20 side and one of the favourites to win.
