England predictably beat India on the fifth and final day of the third Test between the two sides played here, to level the series one all.
India lost the match by 266 runs. Replying to England's 569 for 7 declared and 205 for four declared, India scored 330 and 178.
England had off-spinner Moeen Ali to thank for their well-earned and dominant victory, as he finished with Test best figures of 6 for 67.
England ended their winless run of ten Tests, which began in August last year, in clinical style, not allowing India to enjoy even one dominant session in the 13 played.
The home side began the fifth day needing six wickets, and India needing 333 to ensure a draw, but the latter did not even offer a semblance of a fight.
James Anderson, who faces a possible suspension at his Level 3 hearing on Friday, was immaculate once again, breaking India's back before leaving the spotlight for Moeen to spin through the tail.

Ajinkya Rahane remained unbeaten on a half-century (52 with seven boundaries), his second of the Test, but he ran out of partners ten minutes before lunch.
Anderson claimed seven wickets for 77 runs in the 40.1 0vers that he bowled in the Test to claim his second Man-of-the-Match award of the series. Moeen Ali claimed 8 for 129 in 38.4 overs, shaking off the perception of him being a part-time spinner in the England squad.
