Congress on Friday staged a protested against the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) government in Punjab over the Moga incident which left a 13-year old girl dead and demanded a case to be filed against Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal.
"Such an incident happened and you are asking why we have gathered. The transport company is owned by Sukhbir Singh Badal, there should be a case registered against him. He is the managing director of the Orbit Transport company, a case should be filed against him just like the case that was filed against Uber cab. All the bus permits of the Orbit should be cancelled," Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Partap Singh Bajwa told ANI.
Earlier, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) also staged a protest against the incident in front of a police station in Moga.
According to reports, a 13-year-old girl died and her mother suffered serious injuries yesterday when they had to jump out of a moving bus to avoid molestation by some youth near Punjab's Moga town. The girl was declared brought dead by the doctors.
The bus reportedly belongs to Orbit Transport Company, which is owned by the ruling Badal family.
The police has impounded the bus.
The woman was travelling to meet her relatives at a nearby village with her daughter when the untoward incident took place.
