Following Pakistan's recent seven-wicket defeat against Sri Lanka in Galle, Mohsin Khan, Pakistan's former Test cricketer and coach, said that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should have utilised the month-long training to work on technical issues of the players.

According to the Express Tribune, Mohsin said that the training camp idea flopped because it only improved the physical aspect of the players, whereas the two most important aspects - mental and technical - were not worked upon sufficiently.

He said that off-season is the best time to work on improving technical and mental issues of players, but the coaches blew away the opportunity.

A month-long training camp was planned by National Cricket Academy (NCA) head coach Mohammad Akram, where the players underwent gruelling exercises and practice sessions.

Mohsin said the coaches could have easily helped players improve on their grey areas, but all that they were asked to do was run around like donkeys and horses.

He said that despite having an army of coaches and support staff, Pakistan lacked a proper game plan to counter Sri Lanka.
