Former Pakistan cricket coach Mohsin Khan has said that he felt awkward for veterans Shoaib Malik and Abdul Razzaq who were declared unfit for the South Africa tour after being named in the Pakistan squad just a few days ago.

Malik and Razzaq, who were a part of Pakistan's 15-man squad named for the series, were declared unfit for the South Africa tour on Tuesday.

According to the Daily Times, the former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief selector said that it seemed awkward that PCB selects a player one day and drop him the very next day, adding that if Malik and Razzaq were already unfit, they should not have been ever included in the squad.

Khan further queried whether the PCB conducted fitness test of the players while selecting them for a series, and requested the board to include youngsters in the squad in place of the replaced Malik and Razzaq.

Khan further said that the PCB should also give a chance to veteran player Younis Khan in the South Africa series in order to make a formidable team with a blend of youth and experience, and believes that without captain Misbah-ul Haq, the team could not perform up to the mark.
